The Russian-Belarusian Venture Capital Fund (RBF Ventures), created by RVC, RVC Infrafund and the Belarusian Innovation Fund, invested in the Belarusian startup RocketData. The deal was structured with legal support of Aleinikov&Partners Law Firm.
According to Mikhail Fedotov, Board Member of RVC, RocketData is the first investment project of RBF Ventures in Belarus: "There are simply no comparable analogues of the proposed service in the former CIS area ... In 2019, RocketData is planning to enter Central and Eastern Europe market and we will support the company as maximum as possible."
The deal between RBF Ventures and RocketData became the first of this kind in the country, where the “English law” tools introduced by Decree No. 8 “On Development of the Digital Economy” were applied during structuring.
“For the Belarusian venture capital market, the deal of our joint fund to invest in Rocketdata.io is a landmark and to some extent historic one,” said Dmitry Kalinin, RBF Ventures Managing Partner and the Director of the Belarusian Innovation Fund.
The project has been led by Senior Associate Anna Tsymbalist.
Administration of the Hi-Tech Park Belarus and Aleinikov&Partners signed the long term cooperation agreement.
Aleinikov&Partners Law Firm advised Austrian Kapsch TrafficCom in regard to implementation of the investment project on creating in the Republic of Belarus of the national electronic tolling system for motor vehicles on selected roads.
Aleinikov&Partners advised the Belarusian founder of WiFi Map in the M&A transaction, connected to his exit from the project.
